Meet the Most FSBO Friendly Realtor in Delaware and Chester Counties—John Herreid
A number of people have asked me, “John, why do you give so much help to people trying to sell their own homes?”
It’s a good question and one that I can answer by truthfully saying that I enjoy sharing my knowledge and real estate experience. As a 30-year resident of the area, I’ve worked through the many cycles of the real estate market here and learned the best ways to facilitate both buying and selling transactions.
With the uncertain economy of the past few years, I’ve seen an increase in the number of people who are selling their homes as FSBOs (For Sale by Owners). Many of them have no experience handling real estate sales; my no-risk offer gives them the opportunity to learn from a professional who is sympathetic to their situation. If I can help them bring in a buyer—great. If they decide (as nearly 70% of FSBO sellers do), to eventually sign up with an agent, I have already laid the groundwork for our business relationship. It’s a win-win situation.
I bring many years of business experience to my profession including serving as president of both the Wallingford-Swarthmore Alliance of Civic Associations and the Delaware Valley Roundtable Council of Logistics Management. I also taught at the Temple University College of Business and hold BS, MS and MBA degrees.
When not helping buyers and sellers in Delaware and Chester Counties, I enjoy golfing, going to the beach and family vacations.
